The key is to create good morale for the patient and relatives in case they are concerned about the use of analgesics, especially when administering anesthesia under unconsciousness. Giving advice, understanding, and providing information that the patient needs to know before undergoing surgery in order to undergo surgery with the most comfortable feeling, relaxation, and safety. Anesthesiologist has primary duty to help relieve pain for the patient undergoing surgery.  It starts from preparing before the patient enters the operating room, observing, following up, and reporting the patient's results during the operation as well as care until the patient recovers after surgery safely. Apart from keeping an eye on neatness  and the safety of the patient who has to undergo surgery, anesthesiologist  still needs to follow up the patient who is in critical condition in the intensive care unit  and is one of the rescue teams,  including the use of drugs to suppress chronic pain in cancer patient.

3 Main Functions of the Anesthesiologist Team

Before surgery: The anesthesiologist will be responsible for planning the patient's anesthesia  by considering dosing as appropriate for each patient, preparing for a surgical plan by talking, taking history, and checking detailed physical examination results  as well as providing opportunities for patients and relatives to ask questions in various areas, especially about the use of painkillers to create peace of mind  until ready for anesthesia and upcoming surgery.

Intraoperative: During the operation, the patient will be anesthetized by general anesthesia  or injected local anesthesia as appropriate. the anesthesiologist must be close to the patient throughout the operation to check ECG, blood pressure,  and check the normality of the oxygen level as well as watching for abnormalities that may occur in order to provide assistance and correct until it is safe and the surgery is completed.

Post-surgery: After the surgery, the patient will be moved to the observation room for  1-2  hours.  Then the patient will be moved to the recuperation room.  The anesthesiologist still has to follow up the patient for a while to provide assistance in case of pain.

Anesthesia can be categorized as follows:

General anesthesia or anesthesia throughout the body

Regional anesthesia

Local anesthesia

Sedation

The anesthesiologist will monitor the patient's condition before and after surgery as follows:

• Preparing the patient before undergoing surgery and assessing physical and mental readiness

• Providing care from the moment the patient enters the operating room until leaves the operating room

• Supervising and taking care to ensure safety throughout the surgery period

• Following up and providing treatment for complications that may occur during surgery

• Tracking patient's breathing, pulse, and blood pressure by using a measuring device as appropriate throughout the period of surgery

• Following up with patients in the recovery period until the patient wakes up from general anesthesia

• Giving appropriate pain relief medication to the patient
